Course Objectives The Edinburgh Haematopathology Tutorial takes place annually and is designed to provide a practical approach to different topics in Haematopathology. This year's course will highlight advances in immunohistochemistry and molecular technologies, and demonstrate how they are integrated into routine diagnostic practice. Topics to be covered include reactive lymphoproliferations and 'early lymphomas', T-cell lymphomas and B-cell lymphomas, as well as Hodgkin and associated grey zone lymphomas. Our group of internationally renowned guest tutors will deliver keynote update lectures in these areas, illustrating the relevance of new antibodies and molecular tests in their diagnosis. Around 30 cases will also be presented and discussed by our tutors. H&E sections and selected immunohistochemically stained sections from these cases will be available for study prior to, and after the meeting, using virtual microscopy of digitally scanned glass slides. At the conclusion of this course participants will have enjoyed exposure to a wide range of diagnostic material, will have developed an appreciation for the clinical and pathological spectrum of a variety of lymphomas, and be aware of benign conditions that may resemble them. In particular, participants will have developed a confident approach to these complex diseases, including recognition of more recently defined entities. The course is suited to Pathologists with an interest in Haematopathology or lymphoma diagnosis, as well as practising Haematopathologists, and Pathologists in training.
Approval for 15 CPD credits is currently being obtained from the Royal College of Pathologists.
Attendance is limited to 60 participants
